Our Mombasa Rose design team is passionate about finding gorgeous prints in bright and confident colours. We then use these fabrics as the inspiration to create designs that embody everything we love about living in our beautiful Sunshine State - Queensland.

We design clothes that suit the sunny climate and free spirit of Queensland. They are cool, comfortable and easy to wear. We always try to use natural breathable fibres that suit our warm subtropical climate, however, we do sometimes use blended fibres where it will help your garment have a longer life.

We have put together a few guidelines that we hope will help you care for your new purchase. Finding out the most suitable washing method is vital to ensuring that your Mombasa Rose garment has a long and happy life!

Remember to always wash light and bright colours separately as some colours may run in the first few washes. Please keep in mind particular washing instructions will apply to each different fabric.

Fabric Types

100% Cotton

Cotton is the base of many of our designs. We love the natural, cool and durable qualities of this gorgeous fibre.

CARE – We do recommend washing by hand in warm water, line drying in the shade and ironing with a medium to hot iron.

Not recommended but if you do wish to put the garment in the machine we suggest a cold wash in a laundry bag. We have these for sale at $5.00 each.

If your garment gets a stain do not spot clean harshly as it is possible to remove colour from the fabric or - in worst case - ruin the piece.

It is not recommended to tumble dry cotton as this will cause shrinkage, loss of shape, damage to the seams and shorten the life of the garment. It always best to either dry flat or on a hanger on the line. Always line dry in the shade as cotton can fade.

Cotton Knit

Most of our signature T-shirts are made in our signature cotton fibre. It is pure cotton with a small % of Spandex for stability.

Some of our designs use lurex thread in the fabric, for a gorgeous sparkly look. We also use lace edgings, wooden beads, and coconut shell buttons. Please take into account the delicacy of such embellishments when laundering the garment
